How the maths works
Decimal odds are the total return per unit staked, so implied probability is simply 1 ÷ decimal. Fractional odds show profit relative to stake: 5/2 pays 2.5 profit per 1 staked, which is 3.50 decimal. American odds above zero show profit on a 100 stake; below zero they show how much you must stake to win 100. Add the implied probabilities of both sides of a market and the amount over 100% is the bookmaker's margin.
